I proudly have an old phone — truth is I would rather hear an actual old phone ring than an electronic one any day!

Plus it still work when the power goes out.

i love old phones. when i was little i was enthralled with doris day's phone in pillow talk. i think it's blue? i think gidget had a blue phone as well.

I have a corded landline in my home office. Not only is it stylish (I have a refurbed black beast from the 70s that feels like a barbell!) but I definitely rely on it when on calls with clients, customer service, etc. The sound quality can't be beat, and there's never a dropped call on my end. Besides, I feel like a mover and shaker from another time when I'm using it! The only downside? The loud real-bell ring can be a bit startling. Love this site. Becky

I have all landline corded phones in my house ... and all four are either vintage or reproduction to look like vintage. There is just nothing like the heft of an old phone, a great solid analog ring, and the feel of the old handsets in your hand when you're settling in for a long evening chat.

I never thought I'd regret cancelling my land line. These are so gorgeous! We had an ugly beige one when I was growing up.

Yes. I very rarely use my corded landline phone, but I wouldn't dream of getting rid of it. For landlines, a corded phone doesn't drain power like a cordless phone would that is constantly charging. It's minimal, but it all adds up!

I have 3 old phones, only one is plugged in at the moment. One mounts to the wall, which makes it less practical for me. Yes, I love telling the robotic menu option I can't press 1.

I have one of those old pushbutton models at home (which I rescued from the trash). It works perfectly and I love the solid construction and the sound of the ring. I'm currently looking for a lovely sculptura donut phone on ebay.

I have two Genie phones that work great but don't ring. Does anyone know a place in NY where I could get them fixed? Would love to replace my non-descript cordless.

I adore my pink princess phone. It's one of the new-but-looks-old models, with touchtone dialing. For the five years I lived in a studio apt, it was my only phone. Now that I'm in a one-bedroom, I also have a cordless phone, but the princess can't be beat. Great sound quality and, when a friend calls, it's GOOD to just sit down and listen.

I've been thinking about going back to a land line lately. I'd love to go rotary just for the hell of it, but I wonder whether customer-service lines would know how to handle me?

Just checked out the Old Phone Works site, and it was a big disappointment. Way too expensive for what you get.

We only have old phones (dials and more recent push-button), the ring can't be beat and they worked like a charm during Sept. 11th and the blackout.

In our country place, we only have a dial phone (and a sterling Tiffany dialer!), but keep a new one in a drawer for push-button emergencies.

I keep a 1 piece Swedish 1960's corded phone around for emergencies when the power it out. I love the way it looks but tethered to a wall... nope.

I buy old push button phones whenever I find them at flea markets and tag sales. I have a hearing problem and the super loud bells on these old models are awesome.

I've never had a cordless phone or a cell phone. I have a cheapie button phone to work the entry code. And a black rotary phone which is superior in quality and I love the weight of. Love the orange phone above.
