Does anybody get the feeling that the kitchen in the photo for this article would look at least forty percent better if there wasn't a wine rack on that bench in the foreground of the shot? Does anyone else find that wine racks always look cheap and tacky?
what a great looking kitchen otherwise...I kind of go from annoying step mother with the wine rack in....to cool cousin out north with the wine rack out.

Honestly? I don't think having it in or out would make a difference in the overall impact. In fact, I didn't even notice it and had to look for it when you mentioned it.

Verre Èglomisé , This is a very old term for reverse glass painting. I too am a lover of such as it conveys a totally unique look that cannot be achieved by simply placing a flat panel of glass over an existing wall/paint. The design actually has to be done in reverse...( read:...no drinking while attempting this DIY project )...once you figure out the mirror image, you can in effect either paint freehand or have a stencil for a precise effect. I am currently working on circular nesting tables with eglomise tops. Try it, you will love it. Type in "reverse painting" on ebay and pull up everything from jardinere's to courting couples/ Silhouettes and everything in between. If you are a real art and history nut, google/ASK and see a dazzling array of examples.
