Backgammon Boards by Ara & Jack Peterson

Providence, Rhode Island based artist Ara Peterson — known for his work with intense, saturated color and eye-popping graphic patterns — collaborated with his father, Jack Peterson, in a collection of colorful backgammon boards.

A perfect storm of artwork, craft and collections meeting with October's theme COLOR! You can see more of the Peterson Backgammon Boards at the Ratio 3 site — A San Francisco gallery that often shows the work of Ara Peterson.

I miss backgammon. These are beautiful. I want one just to have it sitting out and looking gorgeous.

What a great gift for the whole family and for the mommies that like good looking toys :)

These are beautiful (and not girly at all, I'd say)! If I had one of those, I'd be totally inspired to learn to play backgammon.

As art, they're beautiful. As backgammon boards, they're hopeless. You'd get a migraine after five minutes of play.

backgammon is our family's tradition — we've all played with my dad since we were kids. these are really cool, but I love the old school plain wooden boards.
