Castle Embroidery Art

artwork-01.jpg

Apartment Therapy has blogged before about Castle's lovely bedlinens but now we bring you their one-of-a-kind hand-stitched fabric art made by Castle's Australia-based owner, Rachel Castle, and her "very patient and loving mother" Jillian Patching...

Rachel's embroidered artworks use a range of fabrics for the backdrop including "vintage French linen, flax Belgian linen, Australian wool and moleskin". Then the works are embroidered with "fabrics like felt, linen, wool, velvet and cotton".

The least expensive piece is $80.00 while the most expensive is $560.00 with plenty falling in the $100-$300 range. We think these pieces would make a lovely statement in plenty of spaces, particularly as a sole pop of color in an otherwise neutral space.

Does anyone know where I could get a lamp such as the yellow one in the first picture? I've never seen ones that are literally made to be used like this, to be clipped on a picture frame. Any help would be very much appreciated. :)
