Tchotchke Find! Potential Uses for an Odd Object

I stopped by one of my favorite favorite flowers shops that sells small antique tables, hand made jewelry and miscellaneous wares and came across this silver and gold tchotchke. It reminds me of something they would have at Cafe Yaffa in the East Village of Manhattan.

Their relaxed, warm style caters perfectly to their family, which includes three active boys and three even more active dogs — two Boston Terriers (Frank & Stan) and Henry, a Great Dane.

These basic, inexpensive WILMA curtains from IKEA have traveled with me from bedroom to bedroom, house to house. They can be gathered to one side, to the middle, to each side, or left alone to hang. In all variations they are sheer enough to let in all of the natural light.
