Pleated Linen Bedskirt from Garnet Hill

ghpleated.jpg

Our bed can't accommodate a bedskirt but if it could this pleated skirt from Garnet Hill would be a strong contender. The textured stripes and straight cut gives it a modern feel but the linen adds a little romance. More colors below the jump...

There is a lot of commercial promotion that occurs on this website. Garnet Hill has a lot of nice things, but like this particular bedskirt, their merchandise is expensive. I feel that Garnet Hill is particularly able to promote their business and doesn't need a shout out from AT.

Katrin Cargill, a consummate interior designer and seamstress, has a new book out on how to make a number of necessary textile items, including bedskirts. If you're not familiar with her, the look she likes is European but simple, influenced by her Swedish background.

I'm not a bedskirt fan but some beds need them and I appreciate having a nicer one pointed out to me...

:austinsarah2: Not everyone has the talent nor the time to purchase fabrics, notions, etc and then sew their own bed skirts slip covers etc. That's wonderful for you and those who enjoy these pursuits. For those of us who don't, posts like these are helpful/informative.

I'd love it in charcoal.

I've been pondering a bedskirt... would like to make my own, though. $68 is a hefty price tag.

I've been eyeing this one for a while. I don't love bedskirts but my current bed situation really cries out for one and this one has the benefit of not being frilly. But I'm holding out because what I really want is the terra cotta color in a double bed size, and I figure, that's just gotta go on sale. I mean, really, how many people want a terra cotta linen bedskirt?

I'm of two minds about bed skirts. On one hand, they're great for streamlining the appearance of a bed (and what's under it). On the other hand, they're dust-bunny factories.

If I had to have one, though, I'd choose one of the ones above... maybe even the double-bed-sized terra cotta one! (Cheers, cedargr0!)
