Alternative Menorahs: Minimal or Digital?

12_10Menorahcover.jpg

We were cruising the MoMA store website with the intention of writing about a set of lovely glass ornaments we just received as a gift when this LED Menorah caught our attention. It reminded us of another alternative we saw last year — the portable Hanukit. We love so many elements of each one, it would be hard to decide between the two...

The LED Motherboard Menorah is great because of its clean lines and concept for longevity. If your not into fire, this one is for you. Weigh in on the Hot or Not over at Re-Nest or check out this DIY version on Unplggd.

We love the Reddish Hanukit for its simplicity and its elevation of the match to the center of attention. We're suckers for a little fire and the "after" picture makes this hard to resist.

Which do you prefer?

Are they special matches? I love the simple match menorah but it's too bad it probably wouldn't burn for the recommended/required 30 minutes.

The match menorah is very beautiful and simple, but I have to agree with airportwithaview; if your intent is to light the menorah in accordance with true tradition, the candles have to burn for at least 30 min. You'd be lucky to get 30 seconds burn time with this ;)
