When we first learned about Reside several years ago we had visions of a sparse, gallery-like showroom of highly curated mid-century modern antiques and, honestly, we were a little intimidated. Even perusing their website led us to believe this was no place for casual browsing. Turns out we got the "highly curated" part right but were totally wrong about everything else...

Residing in the lovely Cambridge neighborhood of Huron Village (just a few blocks from the Marimekko store), Reside is nothing if not approachable. The store is warm, cozy and chock full of amazing mid-century finds including big names like George Nakashima, Alvar Aalto, Herman Miller, Dunbar and Knoll. They also have a lovely collection of vintage accessories for those not shopping for furniture.

Reside's collection is constantly evolving and the first floor alone could keep you busy for an hour — but don't leave without visiting the clearance basement! Just keep in mind that their definition of "clearance" differs from, say, IKEA, but if you're searching for great mid-century pieces that need a little TLC, you just might find it down there. Check out this army of Tulip chairs!

Reside also sells vintage fabrics by the yard and exhibits a small selection of pieces by local furniture designers working in the vein of mid-century style. This lovely Reader's Coffee Table is by Boston designer Liz Phillips.

You can check out a small portion of their current pieces online but remember, things are always changing so head over to the store in Huron Village to see the complete collection in person.

Thanks for blowing the secret guys! Now all my friends are going to know where I shop!
Reside is awesome - always well stocked and well staffed. Lots of information, high quality pieces, and not just the blockbusters, but many lesser known, but no less special, designs and designers. And check out their vintage design books lying about as well.
