With a bunch of carpenters in the family, we've always had a soft spot for toolboxes. Granted these colorful boxes might make the aforementioned carpenters shudder. But the color floozy part of us digs them. And the organizer in us dreams of all the possibilities for storing non-tools in these boxes. More styles after the jump...

It's true that these boxes are a splurge ($58 for the striped box and $42 for the solid colored boxes) but if you have something really special to store in plain view, then perhaps these cuties are worth a second thought.

We spotted these toolboxes by Alice Supply Company in the current issue of Elle Decor. For ordering information click here.
These are awesome, and the striped version is a must-have!

"Color floozy" I like that!

much nicer moniker than 'color whore.'

These are cute for sure, but pricey. I'll take the classic, and pretty, red toolbox from any hardware store for less than half the price.

That striped one is pretty special. A hack waiting to happen!

A hack....yes! Good idea, since the price is not in my budget these days.

Loving the striped one! Very cute, but it is not a necessity for me right now so I won't be buying one any time soon.

Remember the pot about the X-rocker-now-visual-artist who did the floors at MOMA with stripes of colored tape? I think using tape would be a fitting hack for a toolbox.
Unless you are using it to keep cosmetics, which of course means yoiu gotta use nail polish!

While a bit pricier than typical tool boxes, they are much more affordable than the painted axes from last week!

Why not just mod your old red toolbox with spray paint and hand made stencils? It's be a cool Saturday morning project.
