LA designers said they hoped this trend would die in 2009, but if Sandy Chilewich is releasing a new line for fall 2009, it looks like it might keep kicking for a while.

They are very pretty but how do they fulfill their function as placemats? If liquid is splashed than it will go straight through to the table.
