Recycling Makes Good: Upholstery by Eleanor Young

Inspired by architectural forms and fragmented shapes, textile artist Eleanor Young recycles old or outdated furniture with conceptual, custom upholstery designs...

We're fans of bold pattern when it comes to reupholstering old furniture but Eleanor's custom patchwork-style goes above and beyond. The prismatic shapes embroidered into the fabric take the furniture to an intriguing new realm — like we're observing a textile metamorphosis.

Eleanor is also working with pillows and vinyl applique. Check out all of her work here.

I like this. Whimsical without being cartoonish.

Wow, does she piece all the fabric together? That takes a lot of skill.

So, I'm basically in love with these. I have a peter hvidt sofa that I need reupholstered and thought about doing it myself, but this is just so amazing. I'm wondering how I can contact this lady. If anyone knows please tell!
