What inspired you to use color? I just sort of can't *not* use color - for me, decorating is all about color. I think white walls can look gorgeous when they're done by people with real talent and no clutter, but in real life they often just look unfinished. My style is mostly Scandinavian modern (family friendly!) but my colors aren't. My favorite sources of inspiration are Tricia Guild's books and the produce department...
Color Tip: I think one of the easiest ways to do color well is with a complimentary color scheme - a few shades of the same color or two colors right next to each other. The hardest thing for me was to learn to use neutrals - I'd see a picture of a green apple in a bowl and want to paint the whole room green. It took me a while to realize what I really liked was that color against a more subtle background. So now I use one or two similar colors and neutrals in a room, and then sometimes one accessory in a contrasting color to make it pop.
Colors Used: C2 Paint Green Goddess and Banana
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

I love the colors, specially Bright Colors, the combination of them make this living room looks fresh, very clean and comfortable.
I do not like very much the beige sofa but close to the green sofas, it looks great.

This place is beautiful, and what a lucky baby to grow up in such a happy-looking color scheme. It's just beautiful. Congratulations.

I like it. somebody throw a bucket of water on that nesting table set, though--or you'll end up with lots of little nesting tables underfoot.

Looks like a three decker :-). Great bright and cheerful. All the colors really emphasize how much light you get through all the great windows. Also, I LOVE the legs on that dining table.

I love it! Clean, colorful and tasteful. An excellent use of colors that can sometimes be too "in your face".
