Great kitchen! Can you tell me where you got the white picture frames?

Thanks!

Does the sink in Kyle's kitchen have a name (the kind that has a drain area on each side of the bowl)? I saw one like it on another blog and want to get one, but I don't know what to search or ask for.

I'm not Kyle, but I can tell you that the utensil holders are from Ikea's Asker series: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/series/09945/

Meanwhilst, how was the effect on the cabinets under the sink achieved? Would love to see more pictures.

What a darling kitchen. It's so much more charming than the zillion-dollar stainless-and-granite cliche kitchens.

I have a sink like that, with the metal cabinets below, and it's called a "Youngstown Kitchen". From the 40's (original to my apartment). Here's a link to mine, although it's covered in dishes after a party, and you can see the chipping latex paint that some lazy maintenance person tried to use to cover up the dull finish.

The under-sink effect looks like fabric to me.

Does anybody know if western Mass "counts" as Boston as far as AT goes?

Kayla here -

We'll rope Kyle into the thread so she can answer your questions regarding her kitchen but I wanted to answer Griffin's comment and say that Western Mass definitely counts! Really, all of New England is under our belt here on AT Boston!

Hi, Kyle here...

Thanks to Wes & Kayla for including a photo of my kitchen in their post today and thanks to you guys for your comments about my kitchen! The uncanny thing is that my post for AT today referenced the framed "artwork" in my kitchen (see below)....

Look! Color Theory Class Assignments as Artwork

http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/look/look-color-theory-class-assignments-as-artworkboston-058012)

Some of your questions have already been answered by other readers but here are the answers to the others:

Picture Frames - I actually got these pieces framed at a local framer in North Conway, New Hampshire so I'm not sure how helpful that is to you....

Under the sink - yes, that's fabric. The old metal doors are pretty nasty underneath and I'm a textile addict so I just made a fabric "skirt" and velcroed it to the edge of the sink.

The sink - I adore this vintage sink though there are definitely times I'd love to have a new one to have two sinks in one but I doubt that will happen any time soon, if ever!

If you want to see more pictures of my kitchen you can see my AT House Tour here...

Thanks!

Kyle

I wonder if the artwork above the blue colander intentionally references the Aboriginal flag?
