We love the color navy blue for walls but hadn't thought about using it in a kitchen. It looks great here with the large amount of white trim work and the other neutral colors. The deep blue also helps keep the black appliances from dominating the small space. The antique mirror polishes off the look nicely — really transforming the kitchen into more of a "room" than a workspace. Follow the jump for another picture...

Beautiful!
Does anyone know who makes that lovely tea towel?

I love how CLEAN the white and navy makes the walls seem. I just used a chocolate to cover the bottom of my walls and keep the top white (well, rental home white...also known as eggshell). I've always loved this look...it breaks up the space nicely—dynamic but not overwhelming. Thanks for sharing. You can see my wall here (although the picture is not as goo as this one). http://www.carinagardner.com/2009/03/11/adding-color-to-my-life-and-another-frame-project/

Graefix, I'm not 100% sure, but the tea towel looks similar to one I have from Anthropologie.

I just love this kitchen! The navy blue looks so fresh with the white. I think the mirror, the chair and pillow and the prints on the wall all make it look a little less like a kitchen. The color looks gender neutral as well-I think both a man and a woman would be comfortable with this wall color.

Beautiful color, beautiful mirror! And I love the two hens, although I'm usually not into animal knick-knacks. These were special exceptions!

I agree. Beautiful room. Beautiful mirror. Although, I doubt it is an antique. 40s - 50s at the earliest.

I've been dying to paint my kitchen navy blue! Sadly, I am a renter and I don't know if my landlord would go for it...

Hooray! Thanks guys. The paint is Sherwin Williams, I am not sure what the name is anymore, sorry. That tea towel is from Anthropologie. My landlord told me to keep the paint selections pretty neutral, navy is a neutral in my book. This is so cool, I miss that kitchen :(
