Good Question: Metal 'Beasties' at Brimfield Fair?

07-14-GQ1.jpg

I was at Brimfield in May when I spotted these total ridiculous little guys and fell in love with them. But I was counseling myself in restraint, and I didn't absolutely need them, so I moved on. Recently I've been pondering a kitchen redesign that will include a better waste sorting system, and I found myself in need of the perfect third to complete a vignette on top of the recyclables bin, and I realized that finally I have an ironclad excuse to get one of these!

I can't make it to the July fair, and I'd love to get it before September (especially if the vendor doesn't go back for some reason in the fall). Has anyone seen these anywhere, recognize them, know how I might be able to get in touch with someone who sells them? I'd appreciate any info you guys have! Thanks so much! Adwoa

What adorable little guys! Anyone know who the seller is?

I am confused. What are they and why do you want one on top of your recycling bin?

They are molds for rubber toys - try looking up that as a keyword search on eBay.

I don't get 'vignette on top of the recyclables bin' thing either, but to each his own.

According to Brimfield's website:

Locating a Dealer after the show:

We are often asked about locating a dealer after the show; either because of waiting to receive a shipment or because you deeply regret not purchasing an item. Again, no central database exists on dealers and information is not shared amongst the field owners.

To try to locate your dealer, first look at the map of the fields. Try to determine which field your dealer was exhibiting in. Then to to the show schedule and obtain the phone number of the field owner. They will have a list of dealers that exhibited in their field and tey may be able to give you the information you are looking for.

Cute! How big are they? It's kind of hard to judge size from the picture.

adwoa here. thanks, tobermory, for the helpful (and on-topic!) response - much appreciated! i'll keep an eye out for them on ebay, and cast an eye around in september if no one has seen these particular ones sooner.

emika, they're a little too big to fit on a palm, maybe seven or eight inches long? their proportions and the weird little flashlight-esque remind me of the cute little tom otterness statuettes in the 14th street subway in new york.

They look a bit like "Spice Weasels" from Futurama.
