More Comfy Chairs for This Table?
Good Questions

07-15-GQ1.jpg

Q - Hi Apartment Therapy! I'm looking for some outdoor chairs for my patio. I've recently purchased the table in the set found in the attached picture. I didn't purchase the chairs because I'm looking for something a little more comfortable. The table is little darker and has more gray in it than you can see in the picture...

I'm not a fan of wicker...at all. I really love Adirondack chairs, but my patio is not quite big enough for them. Also, I spend a lot of time outside, so I need something sturdy..do you have any suggestions for a girl on a budget? Also, I live in Austin, Texas so if you have any tips for down south I would really appreciate it! My patio has a good amount of plants in moss baskets and consists mostly of earthy greens and browns. THANK YOU!

You could buy the matching chairs but tie on some clean-lined cusions. I know those slats can do a serious number on your butt; I have something similar. Good luck!

... or canvas chairs in a similar wood might work with the table.

I received the full set as a gift! Good call on not purchasing the chairs - they are indeed a bit uncomfortable, even with cushions, and BOTH of them have required repair (cracking along the seats and legs). The table is holding up well enough though (since it only really ever holds guacamole and beer and not ME. Hm, maybe I should cut back on the guac and beer...)

A replacement for the chairs doesn't come to mind, but I'm curious to see what others suggest!

These are great chairs (adding a sunbrella outdoor cushion really helps any wooden chair!) -

Catching up my AT reading, I saw this post shortly after reading yours and thought this might be a compromise between the comfort of the adirondack and a smaller size...
