NStar Green: You Can Now Buy Wind Energy in Boston!

We just got off the phone with Nstar, one of the primary suppliers of electricity in the Boston area. They've recently launched a new program called NStar Green, which allows you to support wind energy for a small monthly fee. Here is what it will cost us per month...

The NStar representative said that it will add between $2.50 and $5.00 to our electric bill each month, depending on which plan we decided to support, the 50% or 100% wind energy support. Although we're already nervous about the cost of utilities this winter, we are so thrilled that NStar is purchasing wind energy for the Boston area that we went with the 100% plan. Once you sign up for the program, you can opt out at any time.

Oh this makes me happy! And since I get the e-bills, I can even sign up without The Boy realizing we're paying extra to be good doobies and having the hear his penny-pincher complaints. ;)

I had been enrolled in this in the past with national grid. Then we opted out when we moved into our condo. We decided donating to charities has more of an immediate impact.
