The objects pictured are from Makea's DIY sister site called El Recetario which profiles specific projects to inspire you to think about creating fun, useful objects from things that are headed to the landfill. We're particularly enamored with the floor chair and the pivot lamp pot.
For more information about Makea, check out the Treehugger post where we first learned about Makea. And if you speak Spanish, you can head directly to the Makea and El Recetario websites.
It was just junk-day in my neighborhood and I scored a totally awesome mid-century style chair, and several drawers from broken down chests and desks that I'm going to re-purpose as bookshelves.
I know going through other people's trash isn't everybody's thing. But there were PILES of vintage windows, old hardware from the remodel the shaker style house down the street is doing, and more scrap lumber than I could ever use in my life. I highly recommend doing some thrifting in other people's junk, especially if you can find the slightly-upper-middle-class neighborhood closest to you (they throw out the best stuff).

Hey, is there a Spanish-speaking AT reader who'd be willing to translate the instructions for the pivot lamp pot? If not, I'll just try to decipher Babelfish's stream-of-consciousness take on it. Because that lamp? I must make.

It doesn't say much, just take out the innards/lightbulb of the lamp and save for another occasion, and then fill with dirt and plants. The advice says the holes/vents will serve for drainage of the water

I thought I posted a comment but it's not showing up now. It just says to take out the innards/lightbulb of the lamp and save for some other time you might need it. Then fill with dirt and plant. The "advice" (consejo) says the holes/vents that are already there will serve as drainage for the water

Well, that sounds easy enough, even for me. Thanks, quinnley!
