While we are definitely intrigued by these askew sofas and chairs by Allermuir, they also disturb our equilibrium. We'll blame it on our proclivity for motion sickness. How about you?...

We spotted these pieces, which seem to be tipping but really aren't, on Furniture Fashion blog. As always, we're predictably attracted to the availability of bright fabric finishes but ultimately these might just appear a bit too tippy for our taste. But we're curious about your take on the Obelisk chairs and sofas by Allermuir (designed by Ross Didier).
I like the chair but not the sofas. The orange chair is a whimsical accent, but an entire couch is too much.

Allermuir has some nice designs but these are too reminiscent of the 80's and reminds me of some of the bad designs I have seen at the Milan furniture fair 1997.

Not my style, but I can see these in a modern waiting room or home.

They are hard on our eyes... but maybe not hard under our butts!

It's like a Klippan for Switzerland...

It looks like it a chair to help the elderly stand up easier.

I agree with Modernests... the couch is too much, but the chair is really neat.

Tippy Klippans, or tipsy Klippans; take your pick.

Bwuhahaha! Nice.
Agreed; the chair is kind of funky and cool, but the couch is terrible. I can't imagine being drunk in one of these rooms.

They look broken.
Or inspired by a Tonka truck.
Like a dump truck's back:

Or a front loader's front:

They even use some of the same colors, like "Grader Orange":

way too 80's and too cutesy for me. Better suited for 20 and 30's somethings that prefer to buy their style than develop their own personal style

I love them!! They have them all over the Denver Art Museum and they're surprisingly comfortable!

I can imagine them looking perfect in an art museum, a club or a home that looks like an art museum or a club.
