I get it, I get it, but, it might be more appealing if the lid were detachable so you don't have this mass looming over your head as you try to relax.

This really brings outdoor lounging together with vampire chic in a way I'd not thought possible...

This is just...silly. Why would I want to get in a deep, coffin-like box in the dead of summer? (hehe) Why even go outside at all?

Is it black to make the heat extra stifling?

Why would I want to enclose myself in a cushioned box on a warm day? Also, this looks like a lawsuit waiting to happen.

and why the hell make it black?!

Looks like it would be fun for kids to play hide and seek, but i think it would be pretty obvious hiding place too. Also, looks like it would be hot to be in a box on hot sunny day. No thanks. I rather stick a big umbrella and chaise lounge and let the breeze flow through.

Y'know, combine this with the wallpaper from yesterday's post

The one called "Sharp Descent", with all the cutlery on it....

and we have a real theme going here. 8^)

Pointless.

When I was a small child, we hid in my mother's cedar "hope" chest. I got locked in once. My dad took the lock mechanism off, but we never hid in it again. Really dumb idea, even if they don't lock!

I think its lovely as a box ...but spending my time in it? I'd rather just use it to hold something else.

I do love that press release. It's not just "brilliant", or "clever"... it's "brilliantly clever"!

Is it just me, or does this remind anyone else of the movie "Boxing Helena"???? Creepy....

And it took TWO designers to come up with this idea?

Wooooooooow...

Excellent idea. Let's encourage small children to shut themselves in boxes, trunks, car trunks, and other such suffocating places.

*eye roll*

The idea of sitting in this in 100 degree heat makes my skin crawl.

Although it could make a really affordable casket. (Seriously - caskets are expensive!)

Missmouse, my idea was an affordable coffin too.

I'm imagining the stifling scent of mildew when outdoor cushions, moistened with sweat and pool drippings, are locked in a black sealed box in the sun for days. I'm sure in Austin it would reach over 120 degrees Fahrenheit in there, regularly.

This was obviously not designed by anyone who lives south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Too bad it wasn't introduced to the market 5-6 years ago...
...they could have had a nice big order from the CIA for use at Guantanamo.

Wicker coffin in black. Bet it doesn't do real well on the open market.

I have nosy neighbors and if the box were a bright happy blue, I think I would lounge in it. Then I could hid from them.

However I know my dog would jump in and it would quickly do from soft, comfy hide out, to dirty, smelly box
