How To: Make a Wood Door Curtain
Boston

TT1.jpg

We just arrived home from a much needed vacation in New Hampshire, to discover our recent issue of Natural Home Magazine. Maybe the influence of being in the woods for a week drew us to this simple but lovely wood door curtain...

The instructions suggest using branch scraps (e.g. the tree outside your house that is blocking the sidewalk needs to be pruned back) to make this fun door curtain. What a great way to introduce some natural materials into your space. Click here for the detailed instructions from Natural Home Magazine.

I really don't like these things -- they always strike me as hazards and don't seem to serve any purpose. They certainly don't provide privacy or serve as a substantial divider -- they're just there to irritate the hell out of everyone.

Yes, indeedy, madampince -why, why, what are they for? And also, don't they remind you of trailer-parks?

They have a decorative charm... seems like a lot of work.

Oh, I'm gonna have to disagree with everyone, I really like them. I bet the texture on the wood looks really cool, especially if they were sanded on the raw sides and the bark was left alone.
I dunno about using them as a door curtain, but I think they would be an interesting from floor to ceiling on a wall, or an unobtrusive room divider.
