Illustrate Your Family Photos with Emmie Bean

People are always looking for sizable, affordable original artwork. Etsy artist Emmie Bean provides an amusing, endearing option by transforming your silly or serious photos into digitized, illustrated renditions.

So rummage through your photos (vintage photos are great candidates) and see what gems you could transform.

Typical price for one of these photos is $50 for 12" x 12" or 11" x 14" illustration on archival paper. You can get duplicate prints for $30. According to Emmie Bean, the 12" x 12" illustration will fit perfectly in an IKEA RIBBA 19.75'' x 19.75'' matted frame. Larger print sizes may also be available.

I think that is exactly why it is creepy.

Thanks for the feature AT!

And the first illustration of the older man two girls was actually SUPPOSED to be a little unnerving :) It was part of a solo show featuring illustrations based on one woman's childhood. Titled "Male Neighbor," I saw the original photo and thought "what is going on here??" but the woman in the photo assured me that he was just a friendly neighbor. The dog was pretty adorable too! But yes, this one in particular was not a custom portrait I did for an etsy customer, but all of the others here were!

If you're interested in a commissioning a custom portrait, my etsy shop is http://www.emmiebean.etsy.com

Thanks!!

If I were to be disturbed by any photo it would be by the last picture where one person is about to kick another person as they are bent over.

Nice work!
