Cabinets of Curiosities

Picture 2.png

We stumbled across these amazing cabinets of curiosities by French artist Maissa Toulet on Poetic Home. We're intrigued by the concept of curiosity cabinets as a way to corral unusual collections in a cohesive way, without creating a visual sense of clutter and chaos. Do you have such a cabinet or similar entity that houses a unique collection?...

These are stunning- right up my alley! I've been dreaming about making inset curiosity cabinets in my house so these are really inspiring. Thanks for turning me on to this amazing artist!

I'm trying to do this in my home. Any source for cheap, large pieces of coral?

I like the overall concept, but the duckling's head over the coral and the doll's hands on the side creep me out.

Fabulous! So surreal and actually poetic, like it says!

For coral, go for the fake stuff that looks pretty real, since authentic coral is endangered. I've seen some at Home Goods and acquarium shops. (You might find vintage real coral at antique shops or yard sales, too.)
