embroidery hoops?

I love your dog. Not so crazy about the hoops.

I like them!

I think this is a cool idea, but might be even more interesting if they were painted.

i like them and how they relate to the lanterns behind the vases (an idea i might steal).

My cat would go bananas.

this is an interesting idea but it looks like they clutter up the mirror too much-- you lose the expansiveness the mirror should create.

Thanks for your comments and thoughts. I should say that it looks a lot less cluttered in person than it does in the photos for some reason.

I like the look. I think staining them to make them look a little less like embroidery hoops might help make them look more natural.

What did you do with the other halves of the hoops? The outer part with the metal closing-doohickey on it?

Just curious - this looks to be a mirrored cabinet. What is the purpose of the bamboo roller shade?

Well, I personally love them. I think it's a lovely effect.

I have the same laterns in my living room and wonder how you light all of yours-do you use a strip plug? Or do they sell an adaption kit or something so you can string a bunch together?

Love the paper lanterns... Spheres are a clever idea, but I don't know that your vignette needs them. I think asymmetrically hanging a single paper lantern would be perfect.
