What youthful, budding artist did not at one time have (or covet) the classic LiteBrite toy? There was no better way to show off your awesome creative talent to the kids next door than by constructing dazzling pictures from colored lights in between games of Super Mario Brothers. Thankfully you can still demonstrate your LiteBrite-ing skills at the Providence Children’s Museum's “Power of Play” exhibit featuring a giant wall-sized version of the luminescent icon...

I so loved my LiteBrite . . .

Small children... big mouths.... tiny parts...
Need I say more?
This definitely isn't recommendable for children of the age of the little guy in this picture.
Unless you're a fan of ERs. And stomach pumps.

There is one in Boston too - at the Museum of Science Discovery Center.

The LiteBrite is located to the left of the entrance, in a little alcove.
I'm not sure if it's as big as the one in Providence, but several children can play at the same time (my kids love it).
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the lights are actually about four inches long and two inches in diameter - I think it would be really, really hard for a kid, even a small kid, to swallow one.
We like to go to the MOS on Friday nights, when it isn't so crowded. The Discovery Center is open until 7:30pm. And you can get passes from your local Boston Public Library.
Not that I have anything against Providence!
