So beautiful! The second pic would be a gorgeous spring color palette. Tulips are my favorite. My college always planted tulips all over in spring and it made me so happy just seeing them. The bluebonnets (our state flower) are starting to bloom here and they are just gorgeous. It's amazing what some color in nature can do for your mood.

Amazing photos! I love color! I don't like to always follow the rules when it comes to color. What it all comes down to, is what makes you feel good when you come home and walk through your front door!

That makes me want to be in Holland right now.

Reminds me of a cross-stitch project I've been working on - took a cutting of all my 200 colors of floss and do a short line of each, choosing colors from my pile at random, stopping and starting the rows at random. It's very colorful and free-form while also being a reference for the future on what colors look good (or not!) together.

I think next time I do it I'll vary the number of rows of color and but stick with the same length, like the fields!

Wow. That reminds me of an afghan I just finished knitting from all the leftovers in my yarn stash. Beautiful stripes.

LOVE this post! I can really identify - we took a trip down to Holland last Easter, and I promise you even though this bird's-eye view is breathtaking, driving by field after field as well as standing at their edge and seeing them go way off in the horizon will bring tears to your eyes it's so beautiful!

This is NOT "in nature." The flowers were planted by a farmer.

But yes, it is lovely.

Wow, that's incredible. It's just one of those things that you never think of. You buy roses, you buy daffodils, you buy tulips. But you don't think that these grow in a giant field somewhere.

For those who can't make the trip to Holland, Oregon has similar tulip fields that are absolutely stunning. I've gone again and again and never get enough of the gorgeousness.

Can I buy these as prints to frame and hang?

ahhh.. the tulip fields...how I loved passing through them on train trips between Amsterdam and The Hague and Rotterdam. Amazing. I LOVE tulips and during my five years in NL, we bought them regularly to brighten up our tables. But that was also when you could buy a bunch of 5 tulips for less than 5 guilders (yes, pre-Euro).... They're my favourite flower because of the intensity of their colours.

And if you Flickr search: Keukenhof, you'll see the most amazing tulips ever.

Yes they are nature, natural, but not in there natural habitat. Boy I feel better now. haha lovely
