It brilliantly uses stainless steel drawers to lend an industrial accent to what might be a blander kitchen without the drawers. In the case of this kitchen, designed by interior designer Jay Griffith, the metal drawers relate particularly well to the black metal window casings and the Douglas Fir wood used for the walls and cabinets.
Have you used metal accents, other than appliances, to modernize your kitchen without making it feel chilly?
Pure materials like wood and steel are a great combo. We did this in our own kitchen. I absolutely love how warm and clean it feels all at the same time. Steel accents along with the appliances, carry the look through in subtle ways. The shaker cabinets we chose are a good backdrop for it. I love how rich it all looks together. A rustic-tile backsplash in a clean uniform white breaks it up a bit but still keeps it clean/warm/earthy.

Gorgeous. Love the windows, too. And I want all those wonderful green bowls! (I have a bowl, ahem, problem.)
