Look! Spindle as Sink Leg

sinkspindle.jpg

We spotted this sweet little detail in the bathroom of friend of ours who lives with a rented bathroom that's awaiting a facelift sometime down the road. We actually like this idea of using a stair spindle or some other makeshift leg to visually support a floating sink.

You could find countless rustic elements to use as faux sink legs at salvage shops like Restoration Resources in Boston's South End. In the case of our friend's bathroom, we like the warm natural element that this wood leg adds to a bathroom that otherwise needs some TLC.

this isn't to my taste
it looks as if
it is a rented space
and the leg
looks
temporary
at best

I like the idea. I realize this is only a temporary solution for your friend and I can't see the rest of the bathroom, but the color of the wood doesn't quite work with the yellow tiles. I think I'd like the leg better in black or white.

I, too, somehow skipped over the mention of the rental status. That said, pls disregard my earlier comment. And I agree w/slowdown that the natural wood w/the white porcelain/yellow tiles doesn't quite work... my vote would be to paint the spindle white.

my vote would be to make it a much larger spindle--I like the idea a lot though, it just looks a little too delicate.
