Look! Industrial Kitchen Cabinet Handles

IMG_2081.jpg

We just moved and love everything about our new kitchen. The previous owner was a chef and we're not kidding, if you ever renovate a kitchen, see if you can invite a chef over to help you plan the layout &mdash you won't regret it. One of our favorite details in the kitchen is the industrial cabinet hardware...

These oversized industrial handles are unexpected in a kitchen and we love how they make the cabinets mean business. They'd be right at home in a kitchen that's more farmhouse than sleek or modern. We've been looking online see where to get them and found a few places sell similar handles (one is a marine supply store since the previous owner was a chef on boats). The ones we found are called "bow handles" or "transom handles".

These are the exact handles we have outside on our shed. We got them at home depot in the gate hardware section.

I just updated my kitchen hardware with these handles. I searched for months, literally, to find something that unique and not incredibly expensive. They look awesome and were only about $1.50 a piece!

These might fit the look that I'm trying to pull off!

These are wonderful... and uber-similar to window pulls used in the early 1900s, and duplicated later. The originals I've seen are solid sand-cast bronze. Later versions (not that they quit casting, necessarily) are made of stamped brass or bronze sheet, and bent into shape. While they look the same from the front, you'll see the little seam on the back of the handle.

Thanks everyone, Jeanine here-- I'm glad these are easier to find than I imagined-- Google was not my friend when I was trying to track them down. They have this heavy outdoor "I work for a living" look like reibedress mentioned, and I figured that boats supply stores were the way to go. Didn't even think to look up gate hardware!

luna, I'll take more photos of the kitchen definitely. These don't even show a fraction of whats amazing about it.
