This lovely stained glass window comes from next week's Jamaica Plain house tour. We love these preserved gems in older homes, the little trinkets that make a space unique. With everyone moving like mad men this week, we were curious if your new space has any built-in antiques or oddities...

I'm buying a 1920's Foursquare. It has three original leaded glass windows. They have curved due to sun exposure, and I'll eventually replace them after taking a class on stained glass.

The entryway, as well as the first stair landing in my new building have lovely stained glasses windows. The house next door is its fraternal twin, and it's interesting to see that it also has stained glass in the same spots, but slightly different shaped window openings. Many other original elements are still present as well. It's a lovely little place (well, big house, little apartment).

No stained glass, but we have pocket doors between the living and dining rooms, they're really neat.

When I designed my house, I integrated some small antique stained-glass windows on the interior (because they aren't very energy-efficient to use on exterior walls). I found two that had come from the same house in England, with a linear design. They flank my bedroom door and look like jewels in the morning. I like the old-house feel they give the space.

Not stained glass, but we have handmade glass in some of the windows here. Very quirky.

Sigh, I WISH our old house had a stained glass window. To compensate, we've added one. All we have in the way of 'original' quirkiness is a miniature room under the kitchen staircase.

Mine has an untouched, gorgeous brick fireplace and lots of architectural details and built-ins, and I love the them. Personally I could never live in a boxy modern home; I'm Victorian, Edwardian, or Craftsmen all the way. I know some have a more minimalist, sleek aesthetic, but I love a happy medium!
Here's my living room/formal dining room (located in the Lower Haight, San Francisco):

Hmm, I just posted something and it disappeared. Is it because it had links. . .?

@ChloeSF: I could open the first link but not the second. Your place is gorgeous! Love the bookcases and, well, everything!

Thank you! If you take the period off the end, it will work :-)
