People who live in small spaces sometimes need creative solutions for where to sleep overnight guests. We thought we'd seen it all until we spotted this Poppi Theatre system from Resource Furniture. The unit includes a concealed fold-out twin bed (additional photo after the jump)...

Brilliantly, the wall mounted TV slides to the right when you need to flip down the twin bed! Presumably the Poppi Theatre costs a pretty penny (there is no price listed on the website) but let it inspire you to think outside of the box when you're daydreaming about building your own guest bed solution!
Brilliant!

Wouldn't it be nice if someplace like IKEA or West Elm could carry decent quality systems like this - Made in North America - and brought it in for a price of @ $2000?
(Far less than the $5000 of comparable European systems)

But you can't watch the TV from bed!!! Bad design, bad design.

I made something must like that, but only the TV/VCR part. I'll have to post some pics later.

I think that a home office type set up instead of a bed would be really amazing and useful.

It looks better open than closed. But I am struck by how the bed is dwarfed by the TV.

Yes, a home office would make better sense that a bed. All the wires can also be hidden in the back.

When I first saw this I thought hey that's awesome because like the post said, sometimes you have to be creative with spare sleeping arrangements... and I was thinking while reading some of the other comments about how it's stupid because you can't watch TV while in the bed... then I thought, but wouldn't there probably be a couch in front of the TV? I would think it would be easier (and cheaper since it's obviously going to be expensive) to just sleep on the couch than sleep in the TV stand... my personal opinion. Usually sofa's aren't too uncomfortable to sleep on for one or two nights... this might be cool if it was a little thought out more. I like where it's going anyway...
