Located in Cambridge just a few blocks from Porter Square, Greenward is in a nondescript building across from another design shop, Abodeon. After you get your fill of mid-century finds there, cross the street and head downstairs to this garden level Green store. We found products running the gamut from paper goods, housewares, clothing, pet supplies, and laptop sleeves and the thread holding it all together is what they call “eco-modern.”

Greenward’s own definition:
As we define it, an eco-modern product is always elegantly designed, attractive, and functional. It is also at least one of the following:
- made from recycled materials
- recyclable
- made from organic materials
- handmade
- made from sustainable materials
- energy efficient
- biodegradable
- educational
All products at Greenward are screened to fit these criteria. Being green doesn't mean having to sacrifice style. Moving “greenward” benefits our homes, our communities and our planet!

It was easy to forget we were being responsible consumers with all the beautiful products on display. We bought a ceramic vase made by Perch at a deep discount and an organic cotton onesie with a screen-printed bicycle for our nephew. We’ll be making a trip back soon for a kitchen composter.

Greenward is hosting a release party for CRAFT Magazine on June 21 from 3-6pm - a great time to check out the store and score some great gift bags. More on Greenward and this event here.

It sounds like you might've come across Greenward in the same way I did! We were across the street at Abodeon, where I was drooling over this, that, and everything else... We stepped out side to walk back towards Cambridge Common for some fried pickles and cask beer, and said "Hey, Greenward? Never noticed that before..."
Love it, but now you've blown my place's cover! ;)

Greenward is one of my favorites... I happened to notice it one day walking down to Abodeon, it used to have some creepy computer repair shop in that space.
Now I stop in pretty often, it's a great source of unique and green items. My favorites are the vases made from recycled bottles... you can see them dead center, top shelf in the third picture from the top... they're a dark green color and have an amazing form.
Great post!

Greenward is one of Cambridge's best curated shops. Not just green but stylish, too. Love it.

It's been a great neighborhood to live in, shopkeeper-wise...
The Greenward folks are great. Paul and Hope at Half Shell make the best lentil stew and gave me a free Half Shell t-shirt when they heard I'd been sick. Diana at Paper Source kept the shop open past closing the other night so she could work with my fiancee and me on our wedding invitations. Simon nurtures his crazy-loyal customers at his coffeeshop.
Just a great neighborhood.

I will make a point to stop by next time I'm in that neck of the woods. Thanks for the great tip!
