When are we going to get into the top navigation? How about a weekly craigslist roundup?

Hey Boston...anyone know good local sources for vintage/antique hardware? I have a cool vintage night stand that's missing a drawer pull.

i've had great luck with getting hardware like knobs and pulls from anthropologie- both online and at the boylston and burlington stores.

Anyone dealing with pending/possible foreclosure? There must be some here. (Or maybe some must have been here.)

Check out the Waltham Antique Mart basement for that sort of thing. There is a whole mini-room full of doorknobs and the like.

I haven't been to the Waltham market before. I'll have to check it out one of these days.

OMG , It harms my mind to see, anthropologie........ purchasing..depending how huge a statement you want that knob to be...check the salvation army stores/for the old furniture etc..knobs/pulls...yard sales..(does sound like a lot of work..just go to anthropologie..never mind)..

I checked out anthropologie's website, but it looks like they have mostly knobs. Unfortunately, not only is it a pull for the nightstand drawer, but it's also about 6 1/2 inches long, which is an uncommonly large size. I wish I could find the original mid-century pull, but maybe I can track something similar down.

google search for drawer pulls. when i was looking to refinish a dresser, i found a ton of great ones from a place i found on a google search, but i didn't bookmark it (sorry). they had odd sizes too.

It's been confirmed in the Chicago thread that there will be a fall cure. Details to come soon, apparently.

Old House Salvage is AMAZING. (interestingly enough I went there the ONLY time I went to Exeter) A zillion and one things you didnt know you needed. Very well organized and helpful as well. And a decent - if frilly - antique store next door (I prefer Modern).

Do any of the above mentioned places have register covers for in floor heat? Can someone send us a suggestion for where to get register covers other than Restoration Hardware, Home Depot or Lowes?

The Architectural Salvage and New England Salvage sites mention that they have them. I'd bet most all of the salvage places probably do, it would be worth calling to find out.

Here are some online sources to look at to get ideas for patterns:

http://www.period-homes.com/ph3-gril.htm

I have a friend who has wooden register covers, her builder made them, they look really great, I had never seen them before!

There's a place, on the border of Dorchester and South Boston, just off Dot Ave: 66 Von Hillern St, Dorchester, MA 02125 (617) 282-9300‎ (the only website I could find for them is http://www.oldebostonian.com but I think that's just a search site, not really an info site).

Everyone I know who's renovated locally and needed a place to get rid of an old radiator, or find parts fix one or replace one, has gone there. I would bet they have register covers as well.

There is also the BMRC: bostonbmrc.org‎ - they get salvaged materials from local sources, so they are likely a good match for your home.

Any suggestions for where I can get an affordable lingerie chest, new or old, just not super frilly. My apartment has an art deco feel to it. I tried Cambridge Antiques market and all they had was a $1200 marble topped one!
