Are there any good fabric stores reachable by public transportation in the Boston area? I'm also looking for lighting parts.

There are a few over by Lechmere Station, one on Cambridge Street a few blocks down from the Station called Sew-Low and a bit farther from the station at the Twin City Shopping Center is Sew-phisticated. They both have a pretty good variety of fabric and often have some good sale fabric and remnants.

what kind of lighting parts are you looking for? I used to live in Cambridge near City Lights Antique Lighting and they carry antique lighting parts, here's their web site:

I think they run expensively though. Chimera sells some lighting parts too, in Fort Point Channel
