These aren't new, in fact you've probably seen them at your doctors office. But United Receptacle's Defender Series are all powder coated metal, leak-proof, bright red (or white or stainless), and the proportions are perfect. You can get them in taller or round shapes, and some even have a soft-closing mechanism (those are called Silent Defenders). Both models come with removable biohazard stickers if you want to frighten your guests.

hey, these are pretty nice looking! i never noticed hehe
i was JUST looking at trash cans whilst surfing last nite. i'm so annoyed that they don't sell large 3-part stainless steel trash cans for trash and recycling. they have em in canadia and europa. what's up with that?

I really think the biohazard sticker is best deployed on a laundry hamper.

i love the biohazard stickers on these!!
hehe
kdkaboom, pls share where you found 3part stainless steel ones online....i don't like what i'm currently using at home for my little recylcing station. hell - i'll buy em from canada if the price is reasonable..

that one with the biohazard sticker is EXACTLY the type of bin we use at work (I work in a lab).
It has huge capacity but I don't think it would be a lot of fun to wipe it clean from the inside, since it is so deep. I hope it has a removable plastic liner, at least.

12 gallon? is that the capacity of a normal trashbag?

i'm sure this will get lost in the AT backpages, but:::::::
i hunted down a stainless steel, 3-compartment, trash and recycling bin...
http://www.organize.com/3-compartment-recycling-bin.html
okay, you have to call them. it's on backorder until July 15th, at which time it ships from the manufacters for $25, plus the site is having a 15% off sale, so the total for me came to like $102. expensive, but considering how long i've been looking for this thing, damn! i'm excited!
the nice lady i spoke with at organize.com said they are modifying this design slightly - the pedals will be different, and the unit itself will be bigger - which, if you ask me, is FINE. it SHOULD be bigger. the current size is kinda small.
so, that's my big news for the day! i just spent a hundred bucks on something i won't see until probably august heheh.
cheers!

wow!! the price is higher than i would want to pay...but i checked out organize.com and i am pretty damn tempted to buy it even though it's on back order. this is definitely better than the eyesore of a recycling station i have now. i love that you can lift out the black part too.
thanks katy
