Retromodern Mini Grill from Anthropologie

anthrogrill.png

We don't think of Anthropologie as a go-to source for outdoor living but we spotted this little grill and thought it would be a delightful addition to a mini deck or porch...

This itty bitty grill measures 15.75" high and 12" wide. Per usual for Anthropologie, the price on the Retromodern Mini Grill is a little steep ($98). But it is awfully cute...

let's complete the makeover with replacement legs from IKEA $6
(make sure you're doing metal-metal and not melting some weird plastic)

Anthropologie...may you never live down your campaign contributions to haters like Rick Santorum.

Bepsf beat me to the punch. I own the Weber Smokey Joe and it is worth every bit of its $30 pricetag. There's really nothing that justifies the Anthropologie price.

It looks a lot like Ikea's Betsö - which I bought for less than 50CAN$ two years ago.

Yep you can get these for 20 euros here in France. (And that price includes sales tax.)

Good grief! That is a ridiculous price! Do they really expect people will buy this, especially in this economy?

Target or WalMart would be the better way to go if you wanted this same style at an affordable price.

A standard can of krylon spray paint would do a crap job on this (maybe your $10 kind is better... spray paint here only costs $3...). That paint is not high heat paint. That is why they make specific BBQ paint, but it only comes in flat and glossy black...

This grill, although still priced high is probably powder coated or a baked on enamel, much different. So you could pay a bit more before or you could go the cheap way and have a grill that looks like crap soon after painting.

We have the exactly same grills in Finland for 19.90 euros, which is about $27.70. Only difference is the brand is called Lucifer, and mine's nice and purple. Works well in -20'C (-4'F) too ;)
