Imagine going to an auction looking for a few things to take home... and ending up buying the whole lot of inventory. That's exactly what Gregory Scott did early last year. Oriac, the online modern design furniture and accessories store, was selling all of its assets so Gregory and his wife went to look around for items for their own home. If you were familiar with Oriac — which tried to compete with the likes of Hive Modern, Design Within Reach, Topdeq, and Unicahome — you'll remember they sold a wide range of modern design furniture and accessories, including offbeat stuff. When the auction was canceled, Gregory stepped in and made an offer for everything. He's selling it all off for great savings from the retail prices. Click after the jump to see whats still available, including popular Artemide Tolomeo lights...

ECCERE (the small company Gregory formed to handle selling everything off) has kept a fairly low profile in the sale of Oriac's inventory, so we're happy to pass the information on. The updated list of whats available, along with pictures, product details and discounted pricing is here, on his web site. The items are kept locally in a warehouse with a few thousand square feet of items, however they're not much of a browsery and operate by appointment only. A lot of things are shipped out of state, especially to NYC, but the best deals by far are available to people who can tote it themselves. In other words, ECCERE is best for design savvy people who know what they want.
They don't have a ton of big furniture, mostly small to mid-size pieces like chairs, accent tables and lighting. Plenty off offbeat things such as Lumibear lamps, Spore doorbells, Philippe Starck and Kartell stools/chairs, Angela Adams, Vipp, and Fatboy cushions. Some items are one-offs, like the Vitra UtenSilo. Stock is limited to what Oriac had at the time they shut down- in many cases, there are only one or two of an item left, so if you're in the market for something in particular it could pay to act fast.

Eccere have been clogging Boston's craigslist with the same ad for a year now (just venting because their ad pops up in 3/4 of my searches...)

Wow, Greg's still at it? I wrote about ECCERE three years ago, back before Greg set up the website. Thanks for the link, I updated my post with it.

I love that orange organizer! The only dilemma is that it's SO MUCH MONEY! I couldn't possibly justify that purchase.

I outfitted my entire home office with Greg's help, including Artefakt Light Office desk and a pair of Comel filing cabinets which I love. He's a really nice guy and extremely helpful.
