Architectural Digest features an inside look at the Martha's Vineyard house where President Obama and his family recently vacationed. The Victorian house is part of 28-acre Blue Heron Farm, which has gardens, an apple orchard, and a basketball court. New York-based interior designer Richard Keith Langham designed the mostly neutral-color decor.
Richard Keith Langham also designed some of the furniture and rugs. Architectural Digest has a slideshow with more of the house interiors. Apartment Therapy DC has been covering all news related to the Obamas' and White House Decor.

Very pretty and not too ostentatious. I hope POTUS relaxed and ate lots of lobstah (like we do downeast)!

Can we please keep the Obamatized band wagon out of Apartment therapy. I am frankly sick of hearing about President Obama and his never ending lies. I am sure I will be banned from Apartment Therapy once I post this, but I wanted to exercise my First Amendment right to free speach.

Latinwaterpolo:
As this is not a political site, I vote you off this island.

LOL....I knew some fascist liberal would get angry...

Latinwaterpolo, I voted for McCain, but your comment is just ridiculous. Get off your high horse.
Wait, is that laminate flooring in the powder room??? NOW I see what you mean by coverage of Obama's never-ending lies on AT!! What scum!
heh.

latinwaterpolo - some of us voted for Obama and would love to see posts about him

I live in France and seeing stuff like this about our president is cheesy. It is turning your leader into a 'celeb'. Not dignified.

I have to agree with Latinwaterpolo and Hrhprincessfiona. Regardless of whether you voted for him, or whether you support him, the fact of the matter is that many people (left and right) are tired of media coverage portraying Obama and his wife as celebrities. I don't recall this much media attention to the personal lives of Bush and his wife. I really don't care to read about Obama's favorite food, sport, and type of toothpaste he uses. (I especially do not care to read about Michelle's "great" fashion sense, as I completely disagree with that whole obsession.) Likewise, I would prefer not to read about his vacations. I do very much enjoy reading about DIY projects, innovative ideas, and home makeovers/tours of the average citizens of this great country here on AT. So keep those coming!

I for one want as much Obama lifestyle coverage as possible. The Obamas are the greatest first family this country has ever had and they are the single best PR tool we have to improve our standing internationally and our tarnished sense of national pride. Every time I see Michelle and the kids I feel proud to be an American. We're young, we're smart, we're cool, and we're stylish. God bless our great nation.

Anyone know of sources where to buy pirate maps like this?

People in this country are so ignorant about political history. I'm amused but in an exasperated kind of way when I hear people accuse the President of being a Nazi, a communist, a socialist, and a fascist or inventing absurd new terms like "fascist liberals". Fascists are not liberals and vise versa.

@katiebaby
Thank you - very well said.

I thought this was a design site. Comments accusing liberals of being fascists are not on-topic, but thanks for spreading your ignorance, just the same.

Sure it's a nice house, but I don't see what the big deal is. The Obamas had zip to do with furnishing the place: it's just an upscale furnished vacation rental. I could go in there and rent the place too, but it wouldn't garner an article in AD saying "BEP's Vacation Home"
"The Obamas are the greatest first family this country has ever had..."
You obviously don't recall the families named Roosevelt or Kennedy.

"You obviously don't recall the families named Roosevelt or Kennedy."
I do, indeed. And the Obamas are better because they speak to the future, they speak to the best of us, they speak to what makes this country great.
As for the house, in and of itself, it is not interesting. But yes, I definitely want to see pics of where the Obamas spent their vacation!

latinwaterpolo you're an idiot
this is a design site so its not out of place that some people would want to see where POTUS vacations
It's personally not my style but the whole point of this site is to show different homes
this is a nice home and I'm glad that it was posted

right back at you.......so much for Obama bringing us together...I don't want to know you...

Once again: I vote Latinwaterpolo off of this site on grounds of being a flame thrower.

Why are you people so nasty hateful and mean? Get a life..

latinwaterpolo, I think you need to get a life on another website. Don't let the glossy turquoise door hit you in the ass on your way out. On second thought, do.
