I like to mix patterned towels in with my solid ones, it allows me to bring in some interesting colors without committing completely.

Good quality white towels stay fresh looking for far longer than colored towels. I think they are more absorbent, too (I think the dye in some towels affects absorbency). The PB towels are cute, though.

I see these and think how nice they look...
...but nothing says "luxury" to me more than a pile of simple white Egyptian Cotton bath sheets.
(and I can toss them in the wash with the rest of my whites)

I have the Pottery Barn one as bathmat! It looks so cute in the room. But I got it on sale, so I assumed they were discontinuing that pattern.
