Each suitcase is custom constructed from padded fabric and wooden side panels. More on the concept from the artist:
"Interiors nowadays are presented like stills, but in fact there is a lot of mobility of objects, moving around by human needs. Tassenkast blends traveling storage with furniture. A collection of suitcases get status as a cupboard in the interior, playing on the edge of what we perceive as a fashion item and what we perceive as an interior product."
What do you think about this whimsical creation? As teachers we could totally imagine plucking a smaller "school suitcase" off the wall to go to class and hanging it back up once home — it would certainly be a wonderful remedy to our constant packing and re-packing twice a week!
this would be wonderful for crafts... i often use a much less lovely 'many tote bags on hooks in the closet' in a similar way. these are great--wood and fabric aesthetic plus the backpack reference just seems fun.

Sorry, these don't 'read' as suitcases to me at all -- more like messenger bags or, as evenkristen notes, backpacks. And I don't find them attractive or practical at all.

they're bags? you'd never know it. they look like "crafty" boxes...and not in a good way.

I really like this idea since I move nearly every year. It reminds me of the bookcase in "Nomadic Furniture," where the shelves are boxes that you take apart from each other and ship your books in them. Packing books is hard work!
