Something old, something new... it's always interesting when someone takes a traditional look and puts a new spin on it. Wendy McLachlan's South African ceramics studio, Homebakes, slip-casts white stoneware and gives a contemporary edge to this beloved Dutch pottery..

Homebakes is a small production-ware company in Cape Town. They produce a charming line of slip-cast “teatime ceramics and other delights” which play on themes found in traditional bone china such as Delftware. For her Delftware line, Wendy and her crew "sprigs" these lovely pieces with roses and old fashioned airplanes, then delft prints them with contemporary images including dragonflies. We love their fresh look and how the printing randomly dribbles a little here and there.
Take a look on Homebakes website at their other chinaware, which include centerpieces made out of tumbles of charmingly stacked china, including rabbits.

Nice. Much better than green.

green? Maybe I missed something. These are nice - beautiful, in fact - but I don't really see any connection to delftware at all!
