Wallpaper With Storage: Pocket Wall by Maja Ganszyniec

This is an interesting concept — designer Maja Ganszyniec has morphed the idea of wallpaper, pegboard and storage pockets into a single product: Pocket Wall.

Pocket Wall appears to be made of a stretchy plastic like material that is both perforated like pegboard and outfitted with an occasional pocket.

This is an interesting twist on wallpaper and really cuts down on the bulk of individual furniture pieces like console tables, magazine racks, etc.

Interesting idea but I would NEVER have that in my house.

It would really stink to find out that bag really was too heavy...

i'd do it as a small wall, a closet, or a floating wall :) i think it's pretty brilliant.

the back of a door! perfect place for it :)

Aw, c'mon, guys! Who doesn't want a wall of uteruses? (Uteri?)

It's creepy bulging fleshy fun for Halloween!

Damn, I thought I was going to be the only b***h on this one, now but I feel so bad, I can't do it.

I like the perforated look at least

It's lumpy, wrinkly, and bulgy; and now thanks to amyrosa I can't stop thinking of underpants when I look at it. :P

So sorry, but the perforations make me think of the top surface of sanitary towels!

Bwahaha! Underpants?! Hahaha...

I do love this concept though...it almost looks like everything stored in the pockets are somehow forming and making their way out of the wall--giving it an almost liquidy look or lively look. It looks great on that pattern of wallpaper too. I love this enough to think about it for my home but it doesn't seem practical to me. Like someone else said, it would really suck to find out that something was too heavy.

Oooo, that's ugly! Reminds me of those horror movies with the scary faces coming out of the walls.

Amyrosa, I was trying to mentally salvage this but now can only think of tighty whiteys! Thanks for the laugh.

And yes, awful. I cannot for the life of me think of a good use of this. I was trying to think "closet, interior of door"... but after amyrosa, can only think "saggy whiteys!" and be overcome with an insatiable desire to do a very hot white load.

Awful. But if you really want to see more inanity, go to her website. The "pillow for working late" and "plugless sink" are gems of ridiculousness.

I agree w/ the others - Awful.

Even the sections that don't have junk in the pockets appears cheap, artificial and nasty - like accoustic ceiling tiles from a public school.

As much as I love AT's spirited discussions, I love it more when we're in agreement (good or bad) on a new product.
