A lightweight aluminum foldable design, ultra-linear neodymium magnets and precision damping speaker components, cushy-comfortable memory foam ear cushions swathed in ultralight acoustic fabric (don't you just want to press the ear pad shown above?), and Bowers & Wilkin's signature eye for smart design make for a compelling reason for the P3 as your next headphone if you're looking for over-ears headphones...
The build quality on these headphones is astounding. At £169 they aren't cheap but nor are they right at the top of the price scale. For us, they easily best much more expensive sets for the way in which they are put together.
But they also note a few caveats:
Bass fans might want to avoid, but true music aficionados will love the sound the P3s put out...despite the memory foam, isolation on the headphones isn't great. For a pair of over-ears it is definitely some of the best, but those who ride on noisy trains might want to consider earbuds to get the best audio experience.
A sweet hidden feature: pop open tthe P3 ear pads and you can switch out the attachment cable (a remote/microphone attachment is included), so if you roll with an iPod Touch but use an Android smartphone, no problemo.
Bowers & Wilkins P3 headphones in Black or White will be available in June 2012, with a suggested retail price of $299.99.
