Q: My 7-month-old son is fascinated with the baby doll that one of his little girlfriends has. I would love to get him a boy baby doll. He is a grubby little fellow, so ideally I would like it to be machine washable. Would love any suggestions you have.

Editor: Haba makes several boy dolls. The one pictured here is Lukas. BlaBla Kids also makes a few boy dolls. Both the Haba and BlaBla dolls are machine washable. Readers, do you have boy dolls at home you love that you can machine wash?

My Linus, who is almost fourteen months, was drawn to the really soft Cabbage Patch Kids, so we got him one of those. We got ours at Target, but here's a link to Amazon so you know what I'm talking about!

My daughter (7 month old) received a Peppa doll she's very interested in. And so is his brother (who is 2)

I just picked up this boy doll for my two-year-old: http://www.amazon.com/North-American-Bear-Company-Cheeks/dp/B000G334Z4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1292870205&sr=8-1
We're expecting another baby in March, and I thought it would be helpful if he could mimic some of the things I do with the new baby.
The doll is super soft, machine-washable, and it comes in a variety of skin tones.
I really love the little Pottery Barn Kids boy baby doll -- but he comes w/ a twin sister. Keep Max and gift Meredith?

I love the blabla dolls. I recently got this boy doll for my friend's son. http://www.blablakids.com/Online-Shopping/Classic-blablas/DOLL-Baby-Henri They also have this tattoed rocker boy doll. http://www.blablakids.com/Online-Shopping/Classic-blablas/Otto-the-Rocker THey are on the pricer side but I waited until their Christmas sale/free shipping bonanza which helped quite a bit.

Not sure whether this one is machine washable, but my nephew has one and loves it.

Lukas and Yannik are both machine washable - actually Maytag is going to run a commercial showing the girl version of the doll being washed in the machine in a few months.

Clean with a damp cloth.
My 15 month old son has this doll and he loves it (his big sister has had the girl version for years and washes up incredibly well)

Pyjammy, you have the triplets, right? I remember reading about them. Excellent names, all of them, but especially Linus, of course. ;) My Linus is mentioned a few posts up for his first birthday.
My niece has a Stella doll and she carries it everywhere. You could also get a crocheted doll; if it's made of acrylic yarn, it can be washed.
we just got our son a rainbow baby from oompa.com
This is for a custom doll.

Just wanted to say thank you to all the souls who gave me suggestions on the right baby doll for my boy.
This may be after the fact, but hopefully someone will read this that is interested. Sophie & Lil make adorable handmade dolls. They were all girls until recently, and now she just came out with boys in capes. They are ADORABLE. See them here http://www.sophieandlili.bigcartel.com/product/12-custom-boy-doll
I am pretty sure she has an etsy store as well.
P.S. She'll make girls in superhero capes as well.
I may be a little late the party, but I suggest Corolle's Tidoo doll, which is waterproof, with denim overalls. The effect is very boy.
