Rochester, New York
I wanted to share one of my most recent endeavors — a summer dinner party I held recently for some of my friends at my apartment in Rochester, New York. I am especially proud of the votive candle chandelier that I made myself using eye hooks, floral wire, two short pieces of wood and tea lights. It really set a great ambiance for the party.
The chairs are midcentury Costco folding chairs which I picked up at various thrift stores and via craigslist. I spray painted them to match (some were gold and some were black) and recovered the pads in a black and white Houndstooth. I even made the tablecloth and napkins myself to cut costs. There is also a picture of the cocktail bar which was eventually stocked with Tom Collins and Mint Juleps. I found that some old books worked great to get them off the table as to get a glass beneath them and a placed an old mirror under the taps to protect the table.
