Bright Colour + Modern Farm: Two Trends, One Great Look

101508-pops01.jpgYesterday, Rebecca suggested some pieces of brightly coloured furniture that can act as accessories in your home. We've been noticing a lot of this look lately. Bringing in one large piece is one option. Another option is to add multiple pieces in a great colour to an otherwise neutral room...

Here, the blue stools in the recently opened Laurel Tavern have a lot of impact in a space that's otherwise very Modern Farm, another trend that's quickly made its way to the forefront and which is a great foil for intense colour. Small colourful accessories are also less of an investment -- either financially or design wise -- than their larger counterparts. And when you get bored of the colour, you can always swap 'em out for another colour or something more neutral. Where to apply this idea in your own home? Consider it for dining room chairs, side tables or chairs in a living room or night tables in your bedroom. Pillows, throws, lamps or even lampshades, a grouping of vases, a giant bouquet of Gerbera daisies accomplish the look for even less.
