Q: I have seen mirror lighting systems used in London flats that are laid out over 3-5 floors that literally bring natural sunlight from the top floor into the rest of the house. Who does this and what is it called, please?

I've never seen what you are talking about, but it reminds me of Solatubes, which bring in natural light.

Dulcibella - you beat me to it!
In addition, there are other tubular skylight manufacturers or you may have simply seen a very well engineered conventional skylight.
Wasn't this on Mythbusters?
I'm pretty sure this happened in the movie Legend! But I'm curious to see an example of this in real life!
Just wanted to add that it's really easy to extend the tube through several floors. I was told that most people hide the tubes in closets, but I installed it this way, and liked it:

Whoa I love that link up there by Dulcibella. That's so awesome. Must be so eco-friendly. I'm surprised that's not one of their selling points on their website.
This isn't what you are looking for but It's a cool solution used in poor neighborhoods in South America. I've seen these and you would be surprised the amount of light they give off.
