Shaw's Original Fir...
Emerald Green! Ugh. In small doses maybe but as an overall color scheme?! That would aggravate me to no end. I
kinda dissapointed with the years color :( I was in heaven this year with tangerine tango!
I love that kitchen. Perfect. But all the other stuff? Meh...
Humm...well I'm in the majority..I like them all. Specially that kitchen!
er, sorry..meant MINORITY...UGH.
Hmmm... in small doses, it's ok. I think I like emerald green more for clothes honestly.
I love that kitchen!
I have always thought Emerald green is a difficult color to work with, both in apparel and in decor. I LIKE the color, but maye it's just too strong, visually, or something. To me it works best as a component color in a print with other shaded of green, or some combination like that -- not as a stand alone feature. I'm not sure what about it gives me that reaction, but the previous posts suggest I'm not alone in the discomfort.
(I'd gleefully take real emeralds, though!!)
Hmm, in my mind, my whole life, I imagined emerald green to be a lot...darker, than any of those photos. I know emeralds come in a variety of shades, but I like the dark ones best.
Devinitely more kelly green than emerald. Lovely in small doses. The kitchen is eye candy, well done but I couldn't live with it.
hmmm, not enthusiastic about it . . .
I thought emerald green was more deep and jewel-y than this. This is pretty, though, and easy on the eyes in small doses. I like the way it's used in all the photos except the green walls.
It's more of a verdigris than emerald, but I love it either way. I had been planning to incorporate that color into my living room, now that it's the color of the year I should have a much easier time finding the all sorts of things in that color!
Well, this certainly proves that color is... subjective.
Me, too. I would only last about a day.
It's the same colour as the absinthe jelly I made for the big "piece de resistance" to finish last year's Christmas dinner. Almost 12 months on and I can only just bear to look at it . . .
Love 2,6,8 and10!
I think Emerald is a lovely colour, but green has always been a less popular colour for interiors. I hope that Emerald opens the door to lot more green in general being used in interiors. On many of my own designs I have used plenty of green but mixed it up with many other colours. When you look outside you never just see one shade of green, and then the green is broken up with lovey yellows, oranges or pinks of flowers. Follow natures example and you can't go wrong with green. www.parriswakefieldadditions.com
Pantone got it spot on last year with Tangerine Tango and we think Pantone are bang on trend again with Emerald. We will certainly be looking into the idea of Emerald coloured panels and partitions this season and we would love to see Mykon panels included in the gallery! The panels transmit light whilst retaining privacy and you can also use uplighting to create a 'glow' effect so this should combat the feeling that the colour can be too strong in interiors. We've got an artist's impression on our blog but we look forward to seeing the real thing. www.designspaceswithlight.com
