We've just found another chair that we have a crush on, bringing the list to a borderline indecent number. This one brings a little bit of the outside in, mixing felted wool and plywood to create a fanciful three dimensional relief on the back of the chair.

Created by Tuyo Designs, the Gaia chair is at once modern and whimsical. Plywood pieces are interspersed with colorful wool pieces with, in this case, leaves and bird shapes that are revealed on the back of the chair. We love this idea, and although we may not be able to afford one ourselves, we can always put it on our wish list!

Tuyo Designs is an interesting collaboration between two designers, one from Spain and the other from Norway. They are worth a peek, as they have quite a few designs that offer an interesting interplay between rigid plywood and soft, fluid felt. There are some great ideas coming from this team!
