It's almost New Year's, folks. It's time to strap on your dancing shoes and spend all night partying it up in the hottest club in town. Or maybe don't. Instead, bring the club to you by incorporating some disco ball style at home. Party on.

A disco ball resting against a bar cart, as seen on Glitter Guide, above, gets the party started in style.

It was probably this image of be-discoed stair risers that first piqued my interest in this fun finish: a touch of glam in a traditional home. I love the way the mirrored tiles look against the worn wood.

This trend was practically made for the kitchen. Here, a section of mosaic mirror backsplash adds whimsy to an otherwise minimal space.

For a little more, how about a whole wall of the stuff? This white kitchen makes it work with a surprisingly industrial take on the trend, thanks to those pendant lights.

In lieu of a ceiling light, hanging a disco ball from a ceiling rose adds sparkle and fun, as in this otherwise grown-up bathroom.

You don't even need to hang it, though; here, a large disco ball sits to the side of a dining room, quietly—and sparklingly—adding to this vignette.

In this boldly furnished space, you could almost miss it, resting on the bedside table—if it weren't for the festive reflections, of course.

It needn't be a large ball or a big statement, either. I love this smaller version hanging in the window, reflecting the incoming sunshine.

Even a tiny one will do the trick. Start kids off right with a disco ball in the nursery!

How do you feel about this look? Cheap or chic? Would you consider bringing the disco into your home?
